I will be a month traveling a triangle from Bordeaux to Ariege area (1 week), then back to Bordeaux, then to Arcachon (1 week), then to Beynac/Dordogne (2 weeks) and back to Bordeaux. I rented a car. I'm stumped on what I will need for a month in September. Any tips and suggestions and "must see" spots are appreciated.

Rather than trying to list all the places I'd recommend, I'm attaching a link to my travel blog. In 2016 and 2013 there are entries covering the Pays Basque, Bearn, and Dordogne, as well as Bordeaux.

I only have Commarque and Montferrand up but there will be more. If you like the area, let me recommend Martin Walker's mysteries featuring Bruno Courreges a local police chief in a fictional village of the Dordogne. We got lots of great information on night markets, foods of the region etc from reading the books and that added to our fun of visiting the markets and towns.
