Suggestions

I need some suggestions.

I arrive in Paris Monday 8/20 and will be there until Saturday 8/24 when I will visit Versailles. I have most of my itinerary for Paris planned.

I leave Paris on Sunday 8/25 for Bayeux and go on a D-Day tour. Stay in Bayeux Sunday night and Monday night.

Leave Bayeux Tuesday 8/27.

I am not renting a car and will rely on trains; buses, taxis, etc.
Here's where I need help.
I don't fly out of Paris until Saturday 8/31.
What to do? Where to go?

Here are two things I thought about..
1. Take train from Bayeux to Mont St Michel on Tuesday and stay there one night.

Where else?

  1. Leave Bayeux on Tuesday; go back into Paris and catch a train to Colmar. Stay there until Saturday 8/30.

I'll take any suggestions you have.

Thanks
JS

There are lots of possible daytrips from Paris like Chartres, Giverny and Fountainbleu. I haven't been, but I hear lovely things about Chantilly.

Andrew, I was going to recommend Honfluer and Etretat, because I thought both were quite beautiful. Someone had told me that without a car, its difficult to get to Honfluer, especially. You would know better as a resident of France. Also, I think one could combine Rouen and Giverny, both accessible by train. Perhaps train to Rouen, spend the night and then on to Giverny for the day.
