Strikes, floods and terrorists - logistics for Paris in the summertime

Our family will be in Paris in 3 weeks, I've been watching international news, Rick's site (and French Girl in Seattle/David Lebovitz on Facebook). I anticipate the strikes to continue through our stay. Flooding will hopefully subside by the time we arrive, but possible Paris closures. Are there any websites with info regarding closures? I'm hopeful that Eurostar will still be running and we will be able to take the TGV to Frankfurt.

Thanks,
Eric

Even if the strike continues, you can still use your ticket to board the train. There will be trains running at reduced schedules. If your train is delayed or cancelled, you can board any one that comes afterward, or the one before - without penalty. But you won't be guaranteed a seat if someone else already has a ticket for a seat on that train.

Haven't seen a terrorist in a long time, and wouldn't know where to look for one.
Plenty of armed soldiers patrolling the streets of Paris.

You can always check train schedules here

And Eurostar here (you can see up at the top of the page they have a little bulletin during French rail strikes - you click on it and they tell you if their service is affected -- so far, no).

Or, in these social media days, the fastest way to get informed is to follow SNCF and Eurostar on Twitter . . .

Thanks for the info, it is just what I was looking for! I haven't been back to Paris for 30 years, I am looking forward to introducing my kids to Paris. There is no better time to experience Paris than now!

We just returned from our month long trip to France. Absolutely wonderful!!! Luckily our flight and train rides were fine. We did luck out that our train was not cancelled. Our reserved seats were comfy, however the trains were packed with some standing and some sharing a seat. If your train is cancelled you can ride a similar train but your seat reservation will no longer be valid. The luggage compartments were packed! But we all relaxed and seemed glad the trains were running!
