My husband and I are planning a ten day trip to France beginning 7 June. 2 days in Paris, train to Amiens, car rental for 5 days to WWI Battle sites and the champagne region, returning to Paris. Question: How are these strike effecting city and regional train travel, and how hard is it to find gasoline for a car? Thanks!
Hi Phyllis, there are several threads on this page dealing with the question of the various strikes. You'll find answers to your questions throughout!
Thanks, Kim!
I've read them all!!! We are still going on our ten day trip. All the tips have been helpful.
Thank you!
Phyllis
We used DKV Maps online fuel station finder and route planner. We were able to plug it into our Garmin. These stations are everywhere. A chip card is a must, but the manned stations will take cash.
We loved Amiens. If you're looking for a nice place to eat, try Bistrot du Boucher. I hope you're able to make it to Reims (Tattinger and Mumm champagne tours) and Verdun. "Major and Mrs Holt's Concise Battlefield Guide: The Western Front North" is the history nut's (me) battlefield bible.
Have a great time!!!
