If you like quirky, I loved my stay at Hotel Suisse right next to the cathedral. It's a maze of hallways and stairs, but the location is fantastic and it's reasonably priced. I recommend getting a room facing the cathedral. I absolutely loved Strasbourg!!

My daughter & I stayed at Hotel Le Rohan in Strasbourg during the Christmas Markets. It’s a half block from the gorgeous cathedral.

Have a wonderful time!

You spelt the city name correctly in your question - but not in the title of your thread - be aware that there is a town called Strausberg to the east of Berlin, so make sure you don't accidentally book a ticket there.

I also recommend Hotel Hannong. We had a wonderful stay at this boutique hotel. Super friendly staff and the location is fantastic.

I was surprised by the big EU presence there, so you should be able to choose from quite a range of hotels. However if there are big shindigs planned, you might find no room at any inn.

Hi,

We stayed at Hotel Cathedrale which is right in front of the cathedral in the heart of the town and easy walking distance to various areas. We really enjoyed our stay there. The staff were super.

We stayed at Hotel Gutenberg very close to the cathedral, and on a square. Excellent hotel, great prices and a good breakfast.

You don't mention when you're going, but keep in mind that hotel prices in Strasbourg in November and December are very high right now. I spent about three hours looking for a hotel yesterday that was within my budget and had rooms available.

That said, I did find a nice room at Hotel St. Augustin that is located in a very convenient area, 4 minutes from the train station and about a 10-minute walk from the cathedral. It had an excellent rating on Booking.com and very good reviews, although I booked directly with the hotel.

I had to email the hotel first because they are in the process of redoing their website and they haven't yet started the online process, but it was quite easy. I emailed them and heard back from them within 30 minutes. With the price confirmed, they booked my dates and sent me a secure payment invoice for the credit card information (the room is fully cancelable). And the staff member I spoke to was extremely courteous and very nice.

Last Fall I stayed at an Adagio apartment-hotel not too far from the station.
A short Tram ride away.
It was clean and cosy and had quite a good breakfast if you want.
One thing I enjoyed was a visit to the EU Parliament Building.
It may or may not be open to the public when you’re there, but if it is it’s very interesting.
Trams make it easy to get around, ticket machines at each stop.
