Could you tell me how to get to and from train station in Strasbourg to the Christmas markets for 2 in early December on a Friday? If not far we could walk but Im not finding a map to show directions. Open to other ways as well.
Thank you for your help
Just walk out of the station and cross the road. You are there. Most of the markets are around the main cathedral that looms over the area. Across from the station there was a huge, neon sign in English, that said, Christmas Market. Walk under it. There are also a number of remote. specialty markets and you can use the tram to get to them.
The tram is pretty easy. Runs often & is clean & modern. The tram is downstairs at the train station. Probably 3 sets of escalators down. Well signed. Grab a ticket (and validate it...tap the podium thing) We used City Mapper to see the correct tram. The area around the Cathedral is pretty touristy & I'm sure will have lots of markets
If you have Google maps or something like it, Google
Cathédrale Notre Dame de Strasbourg
after you exit the train station and that should get you there.
10 minute walk
There are other smaller markets surrounding the bigger market at the Cathedral.
Thank you for your help.
It's an easy walk from the train station, as stated above.
just head for the cathedral, or follow the map in Rick's chapter (hint, hint)
Thank you all again. phred -ahhhhh I had only gotten out our my Paris book for reference. Good calI 'll read the chapter in the France issue.
