I would love any suggestions on how to get from Strasbourg, France to Brussels, Belgium with the strike going on.. Is there any bus or train transportation not affected? Anyway to get a ride, not sure how to get to Germany As I understand the border is close by? Please give directions on what I would do from there? Thank you so much.
Flixbus is not affected by the strike https://www.flixbus.com/bus/strasbourg
Would you suggest I take the bus all the way to Brussels or is there a big train station somewhere nearby outside of France to go there and then get on the train?
You might as well take the bus direct in six hours.
Or using the Flixbus you can go to Stuttgart or Basel and fly direct to Brussels. You can get a train using the DB (German rail) from Stuttgart to Brussels.
Diane, "I understand the border is close by" is an understatement. Strasbourg city trams run to Kehl, which is across the river in Germany and not affected by the strike. AFAIK Strasbourg trams are also not on strike, even if it is a taxi to Kehl station would not be that much.
If you go to the DB (German Railways) website: https://www.bahn.com/en/view/index.shtml
and enter from: Kehl, to: Bruxelles Midi, and your desired date and time, it will give you options every hour, via Offenburg and Köln (Cologne), avoiding France.
It will also give some options via Strasbourg, you can ignore those.
What is your planned travel date? The Strasbourg transit authority announces a strike affecting trams as of 12/24.

Thank you for all of your helpful responses. I appreciate you response and help Ashley but we are no longer flying into Frankfurt. We are flying into Zurich and going Zurich to Strasbourg. I guess the Flix-bus would be the best option?if. If not, please let me know.
I am looking for options that would include the least amount of travel time regarding Strasbourg to Brussels. So it seems like the best option would be Kehl to Brussels on DB Trains via Cologne?
Diane, re Zürich to Strasbourg, you can also do that on the German side of the Rhine: Zürich - Basel - Offenburg - Kehl
Then tram from outside Kehl station (if running), or taxi.
From Kehl station to central Strasbourg is 5.7 Km (I just looked it up), so a taxi should be affordable.
Thank you so much everyone for your help I truly appreciate it.
