Strasbourg to Basel Airport - train vs. bus?

Flix Bus has direct buses. If you take the train, you’ll need to transfer to a bus at St. Louis station anyway. The travel time is similar, so I would probably take the bus.

As best I can tell, Flixbus runs 3 buses a day from Strasbourg to Basel Airport, and to make your flight, you would have to leave at 5:50 am, and be waiting over 5 hours at the airport for your flight to board. There are trains to St Louis every 30 minutes which take just over 1 hour. The Distribus shuttles you to the airport from the station. So you could leave at 9:21, 9:51, 10:21, each of which will get you to the airport about 1 1/2 hours later by the train/bus combo. Take your pick,

I haven't gone to the airport, but I have taken the train from Strasbourg to Basel and it's pretty direct, and I believe there are frequent trains. I spent a week in the area, and was rising that train up and down daily. Usually every 30 minutes or so there was a train.

Flixbus is for people for whom price trumps everything, even personal safety. It is cheap, but not very reliable. Busses are often late, and get cancelled if there are not enough bookings.

Just take the train + bus combo. Is easy, and goes every half hour.
