Hello there,
I love charming cities. I am considering visiting Strasbourg or Vienna for a couple of days but not sure which one. If you had to recommend between the 2 cities, which one and why.
Thank you
mrtedy, well they certainly are different choices. Strasbourg, in France, is a nice smaller city and would be good for a couple of days if you're in the area - I actually stayed in Colmar and took the train to Strasbourg for the day, visited the cathedral and walked around the old center and that was satisfactory for me. Vienna, on the other hand, is a major city and worth much more than a couple of days (unless you've been there before). I've been before and am going for another 4 days this summer. I love Vienna so in my opinion it's the better of the two as long as you have the time to do it justice. Depending on where else you are travelling, one or the other may be more convenient (location wise) and that could make your decision easier. Good luck making a choice.
Vienna is a wonderful city, and I love visiting there, but it is too far from Paris, where I am, to go very often. Strasbourg, on the other hand, is an easy TGV (fast train), about 3 hours I think. Strasbourg is very charming, a bit German in feel (of course, since it's next door to Germany). But as someone has already said, Vienna deserves more than 2 days.
