Hi Jai -
I replied to your other question in the forum, and wrote about one bike trip which I did from Strasbourg.
I will add the following:
There is a wonderful bike-pedestrian-only bridge across the Rhine. You may want to stay in France, but just riding over this bridge is a thrill. Ride over, and return right away if you'd like. Or stay over and ride along the Rhine there. Very pleasant. Getting to the bridge will take you ~ 20-30 minutes from the center of Strasbourg.
We always stay in the Hotel Le Colmar, about an 8 minute walk from the train station. Very convenient.
The place is not fancy, but is reasonable. Right across the street is a bakery!
