Strasbourg Accommodations

My wife and I would appreciate recommendations from experience for Strasbourg accommodations. Must is that it be located in central old town within short walking distance of both the cathedral and la petite France. Wants are air conditioned rooms and lift to upper floors. Prefer 3 star if criteria are met.

My go-to in Strasbourg, which I visit for work from time to time, is Hôtel Arok. It is opposite the train station: less than 10 min walk to Petite France.
I also had a good stay at Bouclier d'Or which is right between Petite France and the Cathedral, but it was in the middle of January, otherwise it can get really expensive.

Star ratings are rather meaningless in France, by the way.

I really enjoyed my stay at Hotel Suisse. It is right next to the Cathedral, and depending which level of room you choose, you can get magnificent views of the cathedral. It's a quaint, friendly hotel with a good breakfast. They do have an elevator, but due to the quirkiness of the hotel, you may have to walk up 3-4 stairs to get to your room. It's a pleasant 10-15 min walk to the Petite-France area. I can also recommend the Batorama cruise. It's very interesting going through the locks and the views are wonderful. Enjoy Strasbourg - I loved the town!
