Still working on the itinerary ! Inout welcome

So, we mentioned previously , from London-Paris-Aix en Provence (then a week in Provence) back to Paris where the friends depart and leave me and hubby for another week on our own. Still trying to nail down this last week. Originally thinking to head to Bayeaux, beaches, tours, Mont st. M, then head to Amboise for the chateaus for a couple days. I know hubby will want the Normandy part, but wondering about his interest in the Amboise side of things, what about staying in Provence and go on to do Sarlat le caneda and area and let friends go on to paris. Then we would work our way to Bayeaux, via Paris. The problem is, so many places and decisions! Just like the input, if you have some helpful advice. Nothing cast in stone for this last week yet. I should mention, we are in France Oct 1-21st if this has any bearing on what's open, etc. Thanks

I think u may trying to squeeze alot in. Figure on a wk in ea location at least.
Or pair it down. Yes Normandy is wonderful and patriotic, my husband was xtra interested, we spent 4 days in area then 2 in mt st michel this includes travel time for us by car. AMboise and surroundind are loaded with sights to visit, easiely a wk also but you gotta love castles and gardens. Dordogne is a long ride or transport location. Lots to see here but a car helps alot to get to caves, villages etc. i would pick your favorites and only do 2 areas. 3 areas would be rushing andvfrankly using valuable sightseeing time in transit.
Thevareas are fantastic and very interesting but time is needed tonreally enjot them.
Whichever u choose it will be wonderful.
Best to u in planning.

My husband was fascinated by Normandy but also enjoyed Amboise and the surrounding chateaux. If one week is what you have, it sounds doable to me. We spent 2 nights in Bayeaux, one day visiting the beaches and surrounding area on our own, and the next morning catching a few more sites, then we drove to Amboise where we also spent 2 nights. We did not go to Mont St. Michel, but If think you could fit it in if you have a week for these places. Could you spend more time in each? Absolutely, but if a week is what you have I think you could definitely see the highlights. Enjoy!

I like the "stay in the south and head to Sarlat" idea, if you can arrange a flight home from Toulouse or Bordeaux.

There's tons of great stuff to see and do between Provence and the Dordogne region, too. You'll want a car for some of it though.

October a brilliant time for this itinerary.
