Whilst I would not be able to recall Staphane's career, 'Babatte's Feast' was a lovely film, possibly a precursor for the 'great food' craze. Ah, the good old days, before the pretentious chefs who inundate our TV screens, and the people who hang on to their every word.

Thanks for providing this. Babette's Feast was such a lovely film. "An artist is never poor."

She also starred in one of my favorite films, Bunuel's "The Discreet Charm of the Bourgeoisie". This is a very funny film, but my wife hates it. She's not in it but also watch Bunuel's "Belle du Jour".

I have two copies of "Babette's Feast". The earlier DVD has poor quality, but the Blu-ray looks and sounds outstanding. It is well worth watching again on Blu-ray.

As Dorothy reminds us , The artist is never poor , and the point of the film is that those who benefit from the work of the artists , are immeasurably enriched .
