Has anyone gone to a concert at Ste Chapelle? If so, did you buy your ticket ahead? I understand there are usually 2 concerts per night. I am thinking late concert, then walk to Pont Neuf for boat ride to see lights. Has anyone done this? It would be a pretty late night.
I went to the 8:30 Vivaldi's "The Four Seasons" concert and it was indescribably beautiful! I'm not ashamed to say i got a bit misty eyed when the orchestra started (and I don't think I was the only one!) The concert lasted about 70 minutes. I'm not sure how late the cruises run, or how late you normally stay up , but seeing the concert and then a late cruise is definitely doable - and actually sounds perfect.
I bought my tickets the day of at the ticket office within the St. Chapelle grounds. I had general admission tickets, and even though I was there fairly early I was towards the middle to back of the church - it didn't matter though, there's no bad seat in the house.
Thanks for you quick reply. I am definitely thinking of this. Hope we can get some other people on our Paris and Heart of France June 26 group involved. Always more fun to go with a few more people.
I will confess to having gone twice in a week! I went to the earlier concert both times. I did not buy my tickets ahead but my RS Paris guide reserved them for me. I went solo the first time as no one else in the group was interested and still had a wonderful time so dont let it stop you if no one else wants to go. It is an amazing venue.
Thanks, Pam, for the encouragement. I think this would be the perfect way to spend our last night in Paris.
Oh yes!!! Perfect!
They sell the tickets at the cash register at the bistro directly across the street from Ste Chapelle.
We did this several years ago and loved it. We bought our tickets ahead online, but had to go in the morning day of concert to pick them up. There is no permanent seating; they just add chairs as demand dictates. Personally, I would sit farther back so as to see more windows next time. If you can figure out sunset time, factor that into your concert time selection. Also, if the weather is warm, take a fan.
We attended a 19:00 show, and arrived 45-60 minutes early. I had misplaced a printed ticket order copy but showed them the pdf on my phone and all was good. It's a very friendly bunch that run the concerts there. We paid for the "A" section and chose to sit towards the rear of that section for best sound and sights.

We bought tickets ahead but I don't think you need to do so. I would go to the early concert depending on time of year, because you want to be there when the sun is coming through the windows. The stained glass is not that interesting in the dark and is glorious with the sun or even just the light coming through. We bought cheap seats as the place is tiny so there are no accoustical implications and I think you enjoy the room better from further back.
I am thinking the 830 show as we will be there the third week of June and the sun will be setting late.
Exactly, Jackie. Then walk over to the Vedettes du Pont Neuf for a one-hour Seine cruise. The boats usually leave every half hour and it's a short walk from Sainte-Chapelle. Visit their website. You can get a small discount by printing out a coupon at home, a larger discount if you buy tickets (good anytime).
