Any ideas on locations to stay on Mont St. Michel?

Hotel le Mouton Blanc on the island was clean, reasonably priced, centrally located, very charming with beamed ceilings and an ensuite bath. The hotel is not fancy, but staying on the island in the early morning and late evening with almost no tourists is really a unique experience.

I stayed at Le Mouton Blanc as well last September. It was basic, but fine. Keep in mind that all of the hotels on the island except one (last I knew) are run by the Groupe Mère Poulard business (most of the restaurants too). Even when I went to Le Mouton Blanc, I had to go back down the street to check in at Hôtel La Mère Poulard and then go back to Le Mouton Blanc. They pretty much have a monopoly.
