My husband and I will be in Provence in late Sept. this year. After reading all the warnings about driving and parking cars in Avignon and/or Arles, we have decided to stay in a smaller place and make day trips to the bigger cities by either car or train. We will have a rental car so will have the choice. Does anyone have any recommendations for a good B&B or hotel in St. Remy? Our budget it $$ - $$$. Or should we stay somewhere else? Have read many good reviews about St. Remy but we are open to other suggestions!!
We loved Hotel Sous les Figuiers. Small hotel that feels like a B&B. Secluded, surrounded by trees, yet a block or two from center of town. Good breakfasts, swimming pool, and secured parking. Nice people. There is a website.
I loved this hotel, Auberge de la Reine Jeanne. My room was huge and the character was interesting. The main road can get busy and some rooms front on it. Ear plugs will help.
I am excited by all of your suggestions.....going through them now!
Thanks so much for your help, everyone!
Agree with Kathy--loved that hotel. They have gated parking.
