Hey guys I'm doing a Europe trip in sept and my first stop is Paris. Just need a couple of hotels to from nothing too expensive I guess I would say anywhere from 100-170 euros a night. The main attraction for me to see is the Eiffel Tower it doesn't have to be close but hopefully maybe a couple of stops by train or by bus. It will only be for the weekend. Sat,sun and Monday leaving in the afternoon to switzerland.
Hi, I'm going to Paris for the first time and don't know alot, but I booked the Lenox Montparnasse (great price $137 a night). Here is the trip advsisor reveiw:
Hi! There are tons of options of hotels in Paris! One I recently stayed and was very happy with it is Hotel D l'avre. Walking distance (about 10 min) to the Eiffel Tower among other great features , including a good price. You may check it out!
Hope this coud be useful for your planning.
Take a look at the RS guide (your library may have it if you don't want to purchase yet), with a list of recommended hotels in the Rue Cler area. I haven't stayed there, and don't think I'd want to, but it's a nice area and close to the ET.
Another vote for Hotel de l'Avre... it's wonderful. A real gem.
We really liked Hotel La Perle and would stay there again. It's in your price range and is close to the major sites.
Hotel Michelet Odeon in the 6th. Short walk to the Odeon Metro stop. Clean 2 star hotel near the Luxemberg Gardens.
Breakfast is pricey so consider buying it elsewhere. The Hotel Esmeralda in the 5th arrondissement is another option. Only 12 rooms. Quirky Parisian hotel. A bit worn. Read Tripadvisor reviews and visit their websites on both before you make a decision as only you know what you expect in a hotel.
Thank u guys really helped.
wherever you stay in central Paris, you can get around easily via Metro. buy a carnet of ten tickets. Might I recommend also visiting the Orangerie, Monet's water lily museum. It's a very quiet and calming setting when things get hectic or overwhelming. cheers.
My vote is for the Eiffel Tower (rue Cler) neighborhood. I stayed at Hotel Eber Mars. The owner is on the premises, it's small, reasonably priced (for Paris) and I would start my day far away, return to Eiffel Tower neighborhood at night, and sat on a bench at Champ du Mars park and watched the Tower light up every night @ 10pm.
Mr. Eber is a very nice man, very helpful, gave great advice on where in the neighborhood to eat. My former French foreign exchange student stopped by, and he was very nice to him as well. I was traveling with my 10 year old granddaughter, and he went out of his way to make her happy with breakfast!
