Stay in Lourdes or Tarbes?

We were in the area so stopped by in Lourdes. It is really an experience for devout Roman Catholics. There are many patients being wheeled about by nurses or nuns, don't recall, but they are there for a miracle, a healing.

I've also spent time in Lourdes. I'm not remotely Catholic but I found it fascinating nonetheless! The whole town is designed to support those who are there on pilgrimage for both spiritual and physical healing. There is quite a bit to see both in town and at the complex surrounding the grotto. There are processions and sometimes other events happening. The town itself is quite nice to walk around with some nice restaurants on the river.
