Stay in Giverny or Vernon

Hello,

My husband and I plan to stay overnight after seeing Monet's house and gardens in Giverny. Would you recommend staying in Giverny or Vernon? We will not have a car (all train), so I'm thinking staying in Giverny makes more sense, but I'd welcome thoughts from those who have been, and lodging recommendations.

The train station is in Vernon. From there you take a bus to Giverny. To me, Vernon makes more sense. I've only gone to Giverny as day trips, so I don't have any lodging recommendations. When you arrive in Vernon by train you could take your luggage to your hotel before going to Giverny.
