Start in Normandy or Annecy in late Sept?

We are starting to plan approximately 3 week trip to France in late September and early October. In addition to several days (4-6 total?) in Paris, we want to visit Normandy, Annecy as well as Southern France (Cassis). Does the order we visit these areas matter for the best weather? Should we plan to start in Annecy, go south to Cassis and then hit Normandy?
Looking at airfares that would arrive and depart in Paris but also considering starting in Geneva and departing Paris. We think it will be a combination of high speed trains and a rental car for the Normandy portion. Any suggestions would be most appreciated!

Annecy itself shouldn't be any colder than Normandy in October; it gets quite hot in the summer, unlike in Normandy. If you plan to go up into the mountains while you're in Annecy, that could be a different story.

I'd price out multi-city tickets into Paris and out of Marseille (closest) and Nice as well as Paris round trips.

For late September into October, I would start north in Normandy and work my way south.

Regarding logistics, if you go:
(fly in Geneva) - Annecy - Cassis - Normandy - Paris, or vice versa

on some days of the week you can fly from Marseille to Caen on Volotea, and it would be quite convenient.
I would also get a rental car not only for Normandy but also for the Cassis portion, otherwise you will quickly be stuck in Cassis (unless you are just staying a day or two).

Otherwise,
(fly in Paris) - Normandy - Paris - Annecy - Cassis - (fly out of Marseille)

would work best.
