Stairs in Versailles Train Station

Hello - I am going to paris with my mum and she cant do a lot of stairs (walking is fine!) Is there a lot of stairs in the subway stations? we will be going from St Germain area of our hotel to Versaillies - from reading online - looks like a lot of stairs. So i read about taking the bus and i think it involves 2 buses. Wondering if i should book a tour that takes u in a bus from the city and back? Or if taking the bus is striaght fwd? thank u so much

That elevator at St Michel goes to RER B, not RER C. From the RER B, it is a convoluted way to RER C.
It would be easier to use the stairs on the quayside sidewalk: RER C is shallow; basically two stories down.
However, actually boarding the train at St Michel involves huge steps, as the platform is very low.
If this is a problem, you might want to take a cab/Uber/Bolt to Musée d'Orsay RER C, which is easily accessible, and not far from St Germain.

This is all assuming that you are not travelling this summer when RER C is closed (until around 20 Aug, forgot the exact date).
In summer, with lower commuter traffic, I would just take an Uber/Bolt to Versailles.

Should we just book a tour with a coach bus included? thank you again

Paid 67 Euro Versailles to Rue Cler G-7 Taxi with four people and bags in May 5:30 PM. Not Uber, G-7 app is the way. Can't speak to bus but know it has been revied here. Use Citimapper or Google maps they will show you the details
