Stade de France

I am planning on going to the France/Croatia match at the Stade de France on 6/13, but the drama for the Champions League Final has me spooked. Was that an outlier? Is it safe to take my family to the game? From what I can tell, a lot of the CL issue was due to the route security forced the Liverpool fans to take. I will be going RER B to the La Plaine station, which appears to be a more pedestrian friendly route.

It was an outlier. We went to a PSG game there in Sept 2019 and we had no problems at all. The process to get in and out after the game was super easy and smooth. Our experience there from beginning to end was very enjoyable.

I’ve attended numerous football matches at the stade de France, never a problem. One bit of advice: If the game is sold out and you want half time refreshments, consider ordering in advance for delivery to your seats (if they still offer that). Otherwise the lines are so long you may never get served. Allez les Bleus!

Edited to add: depending on where your seats are, it can be quicker to take the Metro #13 (Saint Denis-Porte de Paris station) back into Paris after the match. I’ve usually found it less crowded, as many more people choose the RER B for their return. For arrival, I like the fan atmosphere on the walk up to the stade from the RER B.
