We will be in Nice a few days late May before heading on a river cruise. Husband wants to do a day trip to St Tropez. I am all for it BUT no longer want to go it on our own. Does anyone have any information or experience with hiring a personal guide for the day? I’m talking transport us to and from Nice, and curate an entire day tour?
On Tuesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays and Sundays, there is an all-day cruise to St Tropez from Nice: https://www.trans-cote-azur.com/croisieres/croisieres-nice-saint-tropez/
No tour guide, but you really don't need one to explore the town, in my opinion. It is not large!
And with the boat, the topic of transportation to/from Nice (the main difficulty given the lack of railway access to St Tropez) is covered.
We just took a short trip down to southern France to see a bit of sun. Took day trips to Saint Tropez, another to Antibes, and others to a few other towns.
Saint Tropez was a snoozer. Antibes was much more interesting.

This is not a place you'd need a guide. It's a place where you'll rent a transat, parasol, and enjoy the beach.
Saint-Maxime across the way is just as nice of a beach
The transat mentioned by Alexander is a beach lounge chair, derived from transatlantic cruise ship deck lounge chairs.
