St-Emilion - Accommodation - personal recommendations

A double for €125 give or take. Walking distance to things.

I'm finding it hard to make a choice. The online bookings have a huge price range, are fairly often outside of St-Emilion proper (which I can only discover be flipping back and forth to Google maps), and are often skimpy on details about the accommodation & precise location.

Thanks! RON

Did you ever decide on lodging? We're heading to the area in April and are also struggling with lodging our first night, as we will not arrive in Bordeaux until after 3 and would prefer not to drive very far the first night (we will be heading for Domme or Roque Gageac the next day).

Au Logis des Ramparts looks nice but seems a bit pricey ..

Any suggestions (in St Emillion or within an hour of the train station in Bordeaux) would be appreciated!!

We haven't booked anything yet. At this point I'm thinking we'll probably stay in Bordeaux and take a minibus tour out to the chateaux and St-Emilion itself. I've emailed an inquiry to Acanthe Hôtel, https://goo.gl/o4AbbU, which is affordable and almost directly behind Place de la Bourse. I was at least amused by the web page for Mama Shelter, https://goo.gl/CUJchE - check out the promotional video at the bottom of the page! :-D Happy hunting - Ron.
