Southern France trip planning help?

Hey all,

I have a 10 day trip upcoming through France and it is a sprint (June 3 to June 13). I am outlining some of the areas I am struggling with hoping for some help from my fellow travelers. My main issues are trying to mix in enough kids things and still get a few shops and "old stuff" for me and the wife. I would welcome any discussion on the following topics.

  1. Linen shopping in Provence: we are going to Orange/Avignon/Aix on a Sunday afternoon through Monday Night. Are any places a must and open? My thoughts was try to get to Antique town east of Avignon by around Sunday at 2PM to catch the end of the Market and then head to Aix for the night. The next day, Monday wake up and spend about 3 hours in Aix. Then head up to Orange to see the theater and shop till 2pm. then end the night in Avignon. Does anyone see any issues besides the fact that it is fast and I am pushing the family through, Which they are used to? Any places I should not miss?

  2. Also, I was looking at getting up the next morning and heading to horse back riding on the coast. the big if is age. I have a 5 year old and don't know if he can do it. thoughts?
