South of France road trip suggestions

Have round trip flight to and from Barcelona arriving April 26th and leaving May 9. Open to all suggestions but thinking of Barcelona 3 nights - train to Aix and rent a car. Stay in St. Remy with day trips to the following: Roussillion, Uzes, Vaison La Romaine, Gordes, Les Beaux de Provence, Isle sur la sague. Is this doable? and any feedback on any of these villages or other recommendations welcome. We would then return to Barcelona. My husband is also interested in seeing Geneva. Anyway we could fit that in? Interests are seeing art -and some historical sites but very much like just relaxing in whatever atmosphere we arrive at. We are in our a youthful couple in our sixties.! Like good food and fine wine. Figuring out how long to stay in each place is challenging for us. Thanks

The logistics would be simpler if you just drove the whole way and the time would be about the same. You'd also be able to make some pretty good stops in the Rhone area which you haven't mentioned.

You could fit it all in except for Geneva.

St Remy is as good a place as any.

I would say that Geneva is not worth the effort it will take to include it on this itinerary. Take a look at the town of Fontaine de Vaucluse. It's close to L'Isle sur La Sorgue, and one of our favorites in all of Provence.

Rethinking.

If it's going to be by train and Saint Remy is the actual first day's destination, it's going to be faster to take the train to Avignon and then drive down from there. You'd also have a better selection of cars if that's a factor.

thanks for the suggestions. Do you think a week in barcelona and week in southern france is a good balance or too much?
