My husband and I will be going to Villefranche for 2 days the first of July, Flayosc for 2 days then onto Italy. My question, never been to France and have not idea about the area or what to do in our time there. Any recommendations? Restaurants, things to do, see? We have a car. Also, what to wear in the area? Is it dressier or more simple? Thanks for any help.

I really enjoyed Vence and Saint-Paul-de-Vence. As for clothing, whatever you have planned for Italy will work in terms of climate.

Local trains and buses run to many French Riviera towns are pretty comprehensive, but with a car you can go anywhere. Rick's Provence and French Riviera book has more in-depth coverage of the region, but his France book covers many favorites.
