We will be flying to Nice after a few nights in Majorca. I have booked Le Meridian in Nice for 3 nights and would like to see the French Riviera, Eze, St Tropez, Monaco and Cannes. Is this hotel a good location to take the train to these resorts? Is there another resort you can recommend instead the ones I have mentioned? We will then head to Paris to start a biking trip. Thanks for any help you can give
Le Merdien is a beautiful location on the beach. It is about a 5 minute walk to the Massena tram stop, then 2 stops to the train station.
You can get the bus to Eze from the Vauban bus station. Take the tram at Massena in the opposite direction to Vauban, and the bus station (outdoor) is a short walk away, if a little tricky to find for a first timer. You can get the bus to Eze from other locations, but if you board at Vauban, you are pretty sure to get a seat as that is the origin point.
You can also walk to the train station from le Meridian, but the tram is right there. There are multiple hotels in that area, as it is the most popular zones. Were you asking for alternatives?
Going to St. Tropez from Nice is a very long day trip (by car, by train+bus, by ferry). You might consider other destinations like Villefranche-sur-Mer/Cap Ferrat, Menton or Antibes.
I think with only 3 nights, and booking an expensive luxury hotel on the beach. maybe you should spend at least one day in Nice, as there is a lot to see and do. There is a big Ferris Wheel in the park adjacent to Le Meridien. Walking around Vieux Nice. Walking the Promenade L'Anglais along the beach.
You could also combine Eze and Monaco in 1 day, as Eze is between the two. You could take the bus to Eze, spend a few hours walking to the top for the views, then the bus continues to Monaco and you can return on the train.
Thanks for the replies. I’m using BonVoy points so picked Le Meridian as a hotel
