Solo yoyo

I’m looking for a decent ride from CDG to my hotel near Marais. What’s considered the safest way to travel without paying over 80€?

Official Taxi from THE Taxi line, 50 or 55 Euro.

I agree with Dave. I travel to Paris solo and I head straight to the taxi rank. If you are unsure, follow the official directional signs, do not go with anyone who comes up and asks if you want a taxi nor to someone who says "that taxi line doesn't go to Paris". It does.

If your hotel is near the Marais on the Right bank it will be 50E. No tipping needed. They might or might not take a CC.

Take the RER B to Chatelet and then change to line 11 Marie des Lilas. You have your choice of the Metro stops Hotel de Ville, Rambuteau, Art et Metiers or Republic.

It will cost you 11 euros

Assuming that "safest" is the operative word here, I agree with the taxi choice.

We fly into CDG from the west coast and our brains are usually fried, so we take a taxi to our hotel. The signs for the taxi rank are prominently displayed. Look for the line with someone at the front (sometimes wearing a safety vest) directing people into each cab. There will be people inside the terminal and lurking towards the back of the line (frequently well-dressed) asking if you need a taxi and trying to direct you away from the official ranks with the fixed price. Forewarned is forearmed.

If your hotel is near the Marais, the fixed rate for the taxi is 50€. No extra charge for luggage (like there used to be).

Make sure to follow the signs to the official taxi line — don’t let anyone who walks up to you in the terminal persuade you otherwise.

Bonjour, and thank you all for the info. I’m going to go with the taxi recommendation. It will be my first time in France and I’m pretty excited. And, a big thanks to Rick Steves for his travel knowledge
