Solo Traveler - Pairs Hotel Stay

Hello out there!

I will be in Paris on my own from 9/14 - 9/17 and am looking for suggestions on where to stay. My budget is $200/night. Don't need anything too fancy; I hear the Latin Quarter is a great place to stay but there are many hotels. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you!

September is a busy time for Paris hotel rooms. You are wise to be working on this.

My budget suggestion is Caulincourt Boutique Hostel. It is in Montmarte near good metro connections. You can be just about anywhere you want in the core of Paris in just a few moments. A private room with an ensuite bath starts at 70 euros a night. I couldn't see what the exact price would be for your nights. My niece (in her 40's) stays here every time she is in Paris.

In the Latin Quarter we totally loved Hotel des Grandes Ecoles in Rue du Cardinal Lemoine. It books up far ahead of time so it may not be available on your dates, but the neighborhood is super. You can walk down to the Ile de la Cite and Ile St-Louis in 10-15 min (more like 15-20 min coming back uphill), and in other directions you have the Pantheon, Musee Cluny, Natural History Museum and Jardin des Plantes, etc. It is also a great neighborhood for food; we especially liked the bistro La Contrescarpe and the restaurant Le Volcan.

You might call Hotel des Grandes Ecoles even if they are full, and ask if there is a comparable hotel nearby that they would recommend.

Last year, I spent a night at the Hôtel Cujas Panthéon in the 5th. It's really close to the Jardin du Luxembourg, the Pantehon, and the Sorbonne. I was a little worried after reading some of the reviews, but it turned out to be a lot nicer than expected. Not an amazing place but a good value. Great location.
