So it begins

We had a voucher for Virgin Atlantic from 2 years ago. Tried to use it for September of '22 but they were booked out for voucher seats. They suggested booking 330 days out. So we waited....and waited for 330 days from from our return date. Easy peasy. Just got confirmation. I really was expecting lots of push back & date changes. Nope...not a thing at all. Fly out JFK-LHR Sept 16 & return LHR-SFO Oct 16. We have a group doing a week on Canal du midi but the rest is open. I may be more excited about the Virgin lounge in LHR than anything else. (I am very shallow) 297 days to put this together.

I think the planning & strategizing is so much fun

Claudia

It is fantastic. Big & nice views. Was not crowded in Jan '22. Not all the stuff was open. I think the showers were closed & the barber was not there. I really wanted a haircut....just to say I did. I have very short hair & my partner cuts it in the back yard in about 5 minutes. The drinks were delivered to our table. Food was good. And the staff were very helpful. VA has it's own security line that was very short out of the lounge

I hope you can do it

It sounds good, but the 330 day wait. Not good. Not good at all.
You took a chance. Because it would not be unreasonable to an airline to tell you your voucher had to be used within a timeframe that you passed while waiting for that 330 days.
But I am glad it worked for you.

The voucher was good through 2023 (2 years) so we cut it a little close. Worst case we take anything they have avalable then buy new tickets for Canal du midi. Bookings only open 330 days ahead. So nobody was booking any flights. You are right in one sense. We have to use the vouchers in '23 so I was on pins and needles once our start date came 330 days. We had to wait about a month to be able to book the return flight.

The best part about the Virgin Lounge was the showers(prior to 1 PM). I do also love the elderflower cordial.
