Hi thank you I did look and found that thread. It goes back and forth and then at the end on 11th March (I think) he says that direct train tickets became available and he booked them!
I have contacted SNCF help centre via FB messenger and have copied and pasted the conversation with them below.
Hello
I am trying to book tickets from Paris to Nice direct route for 13/06/26 with a return on 20/06/26. But there are none available! They are available for the Friday the 12th just not the Saturday 13th. Is there a problem on that date? Any help much appreciated
Thank you
Andrew
Hello Andrew,
I am Nicolas from your SNCF Connect Customer Service, here to help you.
Thank you for your message and sorry for the inconvenience regarding your search for direct trains from Paris to Nice on June 13th, 2026.
After checking on our website, it appears that not all trains have been released for sale yet for this journey. The ticket release is progressive, so I am unable to provide an exact date when direct trains will become available for booking.
However, you can set up an alert by simulating your booking on our website and clicking on "Be warned" . By entering your email address in this feature, you will receive an email as soon as TGV or Ouigo high-speed trains are added for this date.
For now, only journeys with connections are available.
If you need further information, I remain at your disposal.
Have a nice day,
Nicolas

Hi thanks for your response.
Yes I have set up an alert for the dates I need to travel.
Just seems strange tickets are available for the day before or the day after just not the Saturday, made me wonder if there is track maintenance planned for that day? Some travel forum groups about France seem to suggest this is the case. Just wanted to know as if that is the case I will need to make alternative arrangements.
Thank you for your message. I understand your concern about the unavailability of direct trains from Paris to Nice on Saturday, June 13th, while tickets are available for the days before and after.
SNCF Connect is not responsible for train scheduling, so we do not have visibility on the specific reasons why trains are not available on that particular day. This is likely a decision made by the train operating company, possibly due to operational reasons such as track maintenance or other constraints.
Since you have already set up an alert, I recommend waiting for the notification email, which will inform you as soon as tickets become available. Unfortunately, I do not have any further details to provide at this time.
If you need any additional information, I remain at your disposal.
Have a nice day,
Nicolas
