I searched for an answer to this question, but I cannot figure out how to get the SNCF website to let me pay with paypal? Any help is greatly appreciated!

More info: the "Pay with Paypal" option does not come up when I try to purchase the tickets.

The paypal option would not come up when I was trying to purchase the tickets, so I found another website, and it worked like a charm: www.capitainetrain.com/en- and same price as SNCF!

PayPal is only offered with the "Prems" fare. Once that is sold out, you have to move to another vendor, or have the right kind of credit card. See also Rick’s France rail travel page.
