Thank you, this is very helpful!
Good morning,
We are headed to Bayeux mid-June and I was able to book our tickets this morning. Train Nomad, from Paris.
The NOMAD trains are commuter trains operated by SNCF on behalf of the Normandy region. So there it is the region that sets the prices, ticketing policies etc...
(Also, given that these are commuter trains there is really no need to buy tickets half a year in advance....)
Thank you, Kim. I wonder when tickets going to be on sale for the end July ( for the dates after July 20)? Also, is it true that the ticket prices are much higher in July then in spring? I have noticed sometime on SNCF site that only one train a day in Strasbourg has a cheap price, others were quite expensive. What the chances normally to get these cheap tickets on first or second day of sale? So far, we were planning to spend 2-3 days in Strasbourg or Colmar, couple of days in Dijon, 3 days in Arles's area and get back to Paris, but it looks like it will be much cheaper to spend a week in one area because of ticket prices volatility. Last time we used a bus to move between Chamonix, Annecy, Lion and Geneva and it was OK, but this time I feel distances are too long.
