Hi! I recently bought train (SNCF) tickets from Bayeux to Paris, but I mistakenly bought for one day after I actually need the ticket. For the terms of my ticket, it says "Ticket exchangeable (adjusted to current price) and refundable free of change up to 1 day before departure. Refundable with a 50% retention fee from one day before departure until departure (maximum retention fee of €12). Non-exchangeable and non-refundable after train departure."
However, when I try to cancel the tickets (so I can re-purchase), it is charging me a 70 euro fee (the amount I originally paid for the 4 tickets). When I try to modify my reservation to the correct day, it is charging me the difference between what I paid (70 euros) AND an additional 70 euro modification fee. Can someone explain to me what I'm misunderstanding about the terms? Is there anything I can do, or do I just eat the 70 euro mistake and buy the new tickets?
I tried the "chat" on the website and couldn't get anywhere. So appreciate any insight anyone could provide!
