Has anyone been to this festival? If so, was it worthwhile? Any practical advice like where to park or anything to avoid would be appreciated.

Ok I personally would avoid the snails, so I am of no help on this question

I have never heard of this "festival" which in my opinion is more a local event dedicated to snails. (also called "cagouilles")
Given that Bertric-Burée is a village of 450 inhabitants lost in the middle of nowhere in the Dordogne, I don't think you will have any difficulty finding parking. In this kind of event when "many" people are expected, fields are converted into parking lots.
Do not hesitate to go there if you are a fan of snails. (with a butter, garlic and parsley sauce, it's delicious. :))
