Small bag storage Temple Metro or Gare du Nord

My wife and I arrive at CDG just before noon September 8. We will have our passports stamped in Iceland and will have carry-on bags only (mine is 12 lbs. max, wife's is maybe 15 lbs. max). When we leave the plane, we'll go straight to catch an RER downtown.

There is a walk with Paris Walks, that day only for the month, at 1430 that meets at Temple Metro. If our plane is on time, I think we can make it - but with little to no room for delay.

I don't mind carrying my bag for two hours, but my wife would frown on the idea.

Assuming we change to the metro at Gare du Nord (haven't actually checked the connection yet). Is there a place to store our bags either there or, better, near Temple Metro? Other ideas?

Obviously, this is moot if our flight is late, so I'm not booking the walk ahead. If needed, we might opt for a taxi to save some time getting downtown, but it's not my first choice. How much time is saved by taxi? I've always taken the RER.

Is there another option (e.g. bus) that is more direct/faster to the Temple area?

Our lodging is closer to the Louvre, north of the Seine. One option may be a taxi directly to our lodging to drop our bags, then walk to Temple, or we might save 10 minutes by metro.

Thanks for your thoughts.

Gare du Nord has luggage storage -- it requires security screening. Metro certainly doesn't -- there might be a private storage option near there. You could check with nannybags or similar companies. I'd drop bags at the hotel.

Temple is on Metro Line 3 which does not connect with RER B so you would probably switch to metro line 5 at Gare du Nord and take that to Republique to get line 3. If you take the RER, just get off the RER at Gare du Nord and store your luggage there and then get on Line 5 to head to Republique. I'd walk from Republique to Temple which I think takes just about as long as walking to connect to Line 3, waiting. for the train and then the short train ride. Try Radical Storage for storage options near Temple or Republique stations if you decide to take a taxi directly to the tour pick up spot or to skip storage at GdN. Because of the RER/ Metro connections and the time it lates to drop luggage off at Gare du Nord, I am not sure that the RER will be faster for you. Good luck. I think you will have enough time absent the usual caveats such as delayed flights, traffic, etc. because you will not have to wait for checked luggage or passport control.

We used Nannybag in March and were satisfied. They have many locations, but not actually in the train station. We chose what appeared to be the closest to the Gare du Nord (an Ibis about a block away). You give your bag to the staff at the reception desk and they put it in a locked room. There might be a location more convenient for you than Gare du Nord area. The advantage of using one of their locations in a hotel is that we could wait in the lobby and use the facilities at the hotel before setting off for the next phase of our journey.

Thanks for your recommendations.

Yes, Republique is a short walk and sounds like a good option.

Nannybag is interesting. I don't mind paying to drop a bag at a hotel for a couple hours but I normally wouldn't walk into a hotel (I wasn't staying at) and ask them to store my bag.
