SIXT rental cars?

We are planning on renting a car in Lille and returning it in Saint Malo. Has anyone used this car rental company?

Yes, I have used them, both in Europe and the US, and have no complaints. Largest German car rental company.

Used them recently in Croatia. Nice people. No problems at pick up or drop off. I would use them again simply based on the service and friendliness.

My brother had a very negative experience in Lisbon. Be sure the name on your drivers license exactly matches the name on your reservation.

In France now with a SIXT rental. No complaints as of yet about getting or using the vehicle. We choose SIXT due to the pick up and return locations being more plentiful.

I have had some problems with them billing me for damage that did not occur, and I did not know that until I got back to United States and got a bill from them. So my advice is take pictures of the car from all angles when you get it and when you return it so that you have proof of how you return the car. It did take me quite a while to get this problem resolved and this has happened more than once with this company. For this reason I no longer use them. However they do have the best prices in their service was fine while I was in country.

I used them several times - including two weeks ago - with no complaints, but be careful: some of their rates do not include any collision damage coverage (CDW), and the rates that do include CDW tend to have higher deductibles than competitors.
If you have rental car insurance through another channel (e.g. credit card), it matters less.

I feel like I may need to give more detail on my brother’s experience. They prepaid for a rental through Sixt at Lisbon airport. When they went to pick it up, they refused to give them a car because name on driver’s license didn’t exactly match name on reservation. (Chuck vs Charles). A hassle, but my brother went over to the next counter and rented a car without any difficulties and went on with his trip. The problem was Sixt refused to refund them the money for the the car they refused to rent to them. They claimed he was a “no show” for the car. Needless to say, this has put Sixt on the “no rent” list for us.

Sixt is a major car rental company in Europe, based in Germany. It is equivalent to Hertz and Avis. We have used them more times than I can remember. Quality and service has always been excellent.

I have used Sixt all over Europe and in Washington, New Jersey and Florida. It's a good company. The only issue that I have had with them is that the car they offer is usually offer me is smaller than they car I reserved. Just happen last month in New Jersey and the person at the counter told me to reserve through SIxt and not through HotWire to avoid that happening.
