Hello!
We arrive in Paris at CDG next Thursday and have several hours before catching our train.
Can anyone recommend a store front at CDG that sells data sim cards for Android/Samsung phones?
Merci!!
A GSM SIM is universal and will function with any unlocked GSM phone.
The Relay stores sell a variety of SIMs but the only boutiques, to my knowledge, are the Orange stores located within the Customs areas of each arrival terminal.
Thank you Tocard! This may be a silly question -- but how can I check to see if my phone is unlocked?!
If you are unfamiliar with switching SIMs and International use, either do lots of prep online, or wait to go to a full service phone store once there. Most kiosks are just interested in selling the SIM card to people rushing by, at a phone store they are more likely to install it, change any needed settings, and work to get it functional and go over how to load additional minutes/cash or data. You could certainly ask at a phone kiosk if they can do set-up since you have the time.
The Relay stores only sell SIMs. They offer no setup assistance.
Orange has staffed boutiques within the Customs areas and they should be able to sell you a SIM and confirm it is working properly.

This is number one before any discussion of stores. There is all sorts of guidance on the web for checking, but I would start by calling your carrier immediately. They should be able to tell you. If your service contract doesn’t stipulate a time frame for being locked (for example, you’re buying your phone from your carrier on a monthly plan, or you just started with the carrier and they have a minimum time before they’ll unlock) they should be willing to unlock...but it can take time.
Silly related question: responders have indicated that Orange has staffed boutiques at CDG in the customs area. Where exactly are they? I have reviewed the CDG airport maps and cannot find an Orange boutique identified. I will be traveling to CDG in October and would prefer to get assistance from an Orange boutique at the airport since we will not be traveling into Paris proper.
Thank you all! I contacted Verizon this morning and it appears my phone is unlocked.
I will seek out an Orange store upon arrival and hopefully get a sim card for data for the 2 weeks!
Aren´t we beating this to death?
Customs is the baggage claim exit. It is impossible to walk through the exit and not see the bright orange booth of Orange. Look behind you as the exit door swings open and there it is. Orange is staffed, it is not simply a kiosk, and it is not accessible from outside of Customs, hence it is unlikely to be shown on a map.
Tocard: Wasn't aware this was being beaten to death. Nonetheless, thanks for the location information. I will think fondly of you when I approach the "can't miss" Orange boutique. Merci,
~D
