My husband and I are visiting France in early-mid September. We plan to travel to Normandy and Paris during our stay. I have been to France before (Provence, Alsace, Burgundy) but this is his first time. We would like to add one more destination to our list for a short 3 day stay. Looking for suggestions of somewhere to visit from Paris that would be nice for a few days. We considered flying outside of France since airfare is reasonable. Do you think Santorini or Dubrovnik would be reasonable (choosing only one)? We would really like somewhere near the coast. Our plan is to relax and stay local to that destination.
Nice would be a good addition.
For only 3 days, I'd definitely stay within the country of France. The problem with going somewhere on the coast, given that you're starting from Paris and ending there again, is that you'll spend a good chunk of your time getting to the coast and back. If you choose a major city like Nice, you can either fly or take the TGV. Either of those will get you there and back with enough time on the ground in Nice to feel that the trek was worth it.
I agree. Nice is a great bet for 3 days. We did that (and spent one of those days in nearby Monaco).
