Shuttle from Ibis hotel in Nice

We are in Antibes right now and planned to spend our last night in Nice close to the airport because we have a 6:30 flight out on Wednesday. We had asked if they had a shuttle to the Airport, since it is only 5minutes away, and they said they had a shuttle. Turns out the shuttle for my husband and I will come at a cost of no less than 60 euros(and it goes up from there). Is this some sort of scam or has anyone else had to pay this ridiculous price for a 5 minute ride to the airport. I know it is an early flight out, but when we stayed in Milan the shuttle was free and we had an early flight out also.

Something is off about the 60 E shuttle. Either the hotel is a long ways away or taking you to the airport in Marsaille. Since Milan is over an hour from the airport, a free shuttle from Milan would be most unusual. Free shuttles are not as common in Europe as in the US. For a five minute ride just get a taxi.

Sorry, Frank, meant to mention we were at the airport hotel in Milan when we had about a 5 minute ride to the airport. But here they do want at least 35E for the 5 minute ride. I think it is because they say they are only 500m from Terminal One. But we think we have it worked out. We plan to walk to Terminal one and take the shuttle to Terminal 2. We are OK with 25E for the ride to the airport, even though it is walk able, but 60E seemed outrageous..

There are 2 budget chain hotels, Ibis and Campanile, about the same distance from the Nice airport. The problem with walking is that one of them is across a multi-lane road, with cars zipping by at high speeds and a center median that has no place to stand. We stayed at one of the hotels - - Ibis, I think - -and they did have a free shuttle. I suggest you check on the Campanile to see what their arrangements are. 60 euros is a bizarrely high price.
