We will be in the port of La Rochelle, France (La Pallice) in late September, 2018. Does anyone know how to get from the cruise port into the city? Or will we be at the mercy of the cruise line? I have tried several websites, with little success, because the posts are either old or not very positive about the situation. Any help will be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Sorry I can’t help you with transportation question but wanted to echo Andew’s comments about LaRochelle, lovely place and a cruise in the harbour is fun. Keep an eye out for evidence of the Muskateers time in the area as well. Locals I asked seemed puzzled but perhaps that was my not so great French, Ile de Re also quite lovely!
