Should I stay at Nice airport the night before flight?

I’m staying in Antibes in June 2026, and my flight has been changed to an 8:30 morning (from 11:45) flight back to the US. Assuming I need to be at the airport early before the flight and after reading about possible traffic issues getting there, I’m thinking maybe I should just spend the night in a hotel at or near the airport. Any suggestions? Is this necessary? If so, ideas on where to stay and how early to get to airport? Thanks everyone.

There are several hotels at or near the airport, some with shuttle. Give the likelihood of a 3 hour advance check in, I'd stay there overnight.

Nice airport is very close to Antibes, and there won't be any traffic to get you there at 6:30 (if you have a Schengen layover) or 5:30 (if not).

I would just arrange a taxi to take me there from my Antibes hotel.

edit - I had missed the part about you staying in Antibes - it does not change my assessment!

Antibes is only a 15-20 min taxi to the airport. I would just stay where you are in Antibes
NCE is small and easy to navigate
I doubt there will be traffic jams that early or for that short distance
Have your hotel call for a taxi.

Is flight going direct to US or are you changing somewhere in Europe?

Antibes is not far away, you can take a taxi or an Uber (you can even reserve in advance). The traffic is not heavy at 5 to 6 am. You can also arrange a private transfer (van or town car)

If you are staying close to the train station in Antibes, you can take the train to the St. Augustin stop. From there, there is a elevator connection to the tram at Grand Arenas (then 1 or 2 stops, depending on the terminal, and free from that stop). There is also a bus, but it may be the slowest method.

If you insist on staying near airport, there are a number of hotels around the same tram stop (some are also walkable to Terminal 1, Terminal 2 is a bit further).
