Should I purchase a time stamped ticket on Vedettes du Pont Neuf Paris Seine cruise?

Hello,
I am travelling to Paris with myself, husband and 5 teenage children. We are a pretty laid back family and don't exactly love being tied down to reservation times. However I want to take a boat ride on the Vedettes du Pont Neuf on my daughter's birthday May 26th. Should I book a specific time? I know we want to do it later at night but don't like being limited on a time schedule. Is there an advantage to having a time stamped ticket?
We are leaving Paris the next morning so I won't be able to use it at a later time.

Any feedback would be super helpful.

Under your circumstances, I would book the stamped ticket time. We always just wing it, but since you know what you want and are limited, this would be the best way to not miss out.

You are a large group. Normally, I would pay the extra euro for the flexible ticket so I could go at whatever time I wanted to go during the day, but for a group of seven who want an evening cruise with no option to return the next evening, I would book the timed tickets in order to guarantee the availability of seven seats.

Since it's a special event, get the timed ticket. Why take a chance of missing out on her special day.

you need to be lining up at least 45 minutes before your sailing to be assured of getting those seats on top. And yes -- when you know when you want to go, get the seats ahead. We always just wing it, but we always could have come back another day. We hoped last time to read in the beautiful little park adjacent, but people started lining up early and we wanted to be sure to have seats on top. -- And with 7 you want to get seats together. You can bring snacks and drinks on board and of course on such a special occasion you will want to do that.

You are all correct! Why take the chance, even for a non planner?! Thanks for all the advice.
In one of the responses it was advised..."you need to be lining up at least 45 minutes before your sailing to be assured of getting those seats on top". Even with the timed ticket I am assuming I still need to line up 45 min early???
