My wife and I along with another couple are planning a trip to France next Spring and are looking for a reputable website for securing short-term rentals in a number of locations throughout the country. To date I've looked at properties on Housetrip.com and Homeaway.com. Can anyone provide a critique of either of these or suggest another option. Thanks in advance for the help.

You might try VRBO, France Homestyle, and Gites de France too. If you're including Paris, take a look at Vacations in Paris.

In addition to VRBO, I used airbnb.com to find rentals in Nice, Lacoste, Nimes, Cadaques, and Barcelona.

We've rented twice in Paris, and also in other cities, through homeaway.com and been fully pleased. Another one we've used is historicrentals.com.
