HIdden Places of Notre Dame

Hi,
When I lived in Paris studying French many, many years ago, I took a paid tour conducted in French called "The Hidden Places of Notre Dame". Are there tours like this still or as new?

Thank you very much.

Group tours of Notre Dame are not allowed yet, and probably won't be for a little while. The person with the best knowledge of Notre Dame on this forum is "emilyofnotredame". She is always helpful and is up to date with all things Niotre Dame. You have your name as the topic. Please put "Notre Dame Hidden Places" or something like that in your topic line. Good luck.

On the website of Notre Dame where you get tickets:
"Groups
Group bookings will open at the end of May 15th 2025.
Thank you for your patience!

We look forward to assisting you in organizing your pilgrimage to Notre-Dame and the Crown of Thorns.
Please visit our official website . This form is intended for pilgrim groups (parishes, communities, movements) of at least 15 people."
Not sure if that's still correct or if this is for tour groups! I am hopeful that Emily will respond.

I can't recall where I read it, but the group bookings are for religious groups or pilgrimages, I am pretty sure.

Judy, that's true, but they also mention "community" whatever that means. I did go to the link
https://www.notredamedeparis.fr/en/visit/visit-group-bookings/ which provides more information.
People are supposed to be able to reserve today for tours beginning June 9th, but it looks like they're behind.
I agree that the title needs to have Notre Dame in it or there won't be many responses especially from Emily.

Hi sherpaulper!

I'm not similar with that specific tour, but as a general FYU, no guided tours/tour groups are allowed inside Notre Dame until June 9th.

The reservation systems (there's 2!) opened yesterday for guided tours/tour groups and other organized group visits, but the reservation system(s) is only to book the time slot. Time slots/reservations do not include the tour itself, or the tour guide.

If you want to book a guided tour or a group visit, you'll need to book it through a tour guide/tour company/your organization (school, company, etc), and they will make the reservation for the group.

There are several logistical and scheduling restrictions for all guided tours and group visits, and there are also specific guidelines depending on the type of group and the size. The details are a bit convoluted, and are unfortunately way beyond the word limit here. I made a second Reddit post that outlines all the information about guided tours and group visits here: https://www.reddit.com/r/ParisTravelGuide/comments/1kodlse/guided_tours_group_visits_at_notre_dame/

Thank you Judy & Lindy for the compliment! (And it's very true...any mention of Notre Dame is like receiving a summons, haha ;) ). To clarify, pilgrimages are separate from guided tours and group visits. Pilgrimages are allowed now, via. registration through a parish and/or an "official" community. There's now 4 different reservation systems (just for far...), and a lot of keep straight. I think my head is going to start spinning soon!

@Lindy. Communities means religious communities: monasteries, convents, members of orders

Thank you Elizabeth and Emily. Fingers crossed for the Notre Dame towers opening by September 19 when I arrive.
