Hello all coming from Hawai’i
Traveling to France
We have a long 7+ hour layover at SFO … thinking of getting an hotel at airport to spend the night before we board our overnight direct flight to CDG
, any suggestions for a conviniéndole hotel at SFO WITH A shuttle to & from airport
As much as I would like to go in to the city
I think just a nice overnight stay would be better
Any thoughts & experiences with SFO hotels & shuttles?
Thank you
The Grand Hyatt is a stop on the Air Train — no shuttle needed. I know someone who stayed at theHilton Bayfront. I trust his opinion on hotels and he said it was good. I had to pay the bill for his stay and the cost was reasonable.
With only 7 hours isn’t there an onsite hotel ?
The Hyatt Regency is nice and it has a shuttle that in the past ran 24 hours. Haven’t stayed in a while, so if you book you should check. The Grand Hyatt is nice as well and is on the Air Tran, so it is convenient.
If you don’t want to go into the City for dinner, Burlingame is close by and has a wonderful restaurants and a very nice boulevard with lots of cute shops. It is a short Uber ride from either hotel.
Dianna,
Is your seven+ hours over and above your preflight checkin-in, security check, etc.? If it is 7+ hours from arrival of your incoming flight to departure for your France flight, you may have less time than you want for an expedition outside the airport.
Dianna,
Another thought occurred to me, are your bags checked through or will you have them with you after your first leg? Where are you coming from? Also, it is my experience that overnight flights to France usually leave the west coast in the afternoon. When does your first leg arrive at SFO? To stay overnight at or near SFO it sounds like you are arriving the day before departure to France. That gives you more than 7 hours to play with. Could you provide some more details about your flight times? Thanks.
