Self Transfer from CDG to Orly

We will arrive at CDG from the US at 10 am May 2 and have booked a flight out of Orly to Tunis at 4:20. That gives us six hours to get our baggage (yes we will have checked bags), get through customs and get to Orly to catch another international flight. We plan to take a shuttle between airports.

My husband didn't realize how far apart the airports are when he made this plan.

Is this feasible? We would love advice and suggestions.

You should be fine. By shuttle, you mean Le Bus Direct, right?

If your plane lands on time, or reasonably close, you should be OK. Le Bus Direct says it is 70 to 80 minute drive time depending on traffic.

Yes, Le Bus Direct. Thank you, that's encouraging. We will hope for on time arrival for sure! This plan saved us several hundred dollars over a traditional connection, but I'm not sure it's worth the stress. Thanks for taking the time to respond!

Well, Pandabear, the OP left in May for Tunisia, but since you asked...

It's 22 Euro each to take LeBus Direct, and 84.50 Euro for a private taxi.

If you add the regulated fares CDG to right bank + right bank to ORY, the total is €85. Same amount if you substitute left bank. The €84.50 looks like that’s what the taxi company did.

I’ve done that transfer with Le Bus Direct and it’s been very easy and efficient. Their ground crews load and unload the luggage. Essentially door to door coach service,

If your plane is delayed, the taxi can always be plan B. But why spend the extra if you have a long layover? And the delights of hanging out at Orly are limited at best.
