Info in archives is very dated - looking for advice on doing laundry in Paris in the 15th or 6th area.
Any recommendations? Thanks.
We stayed in a different arrondisement on my trip, but we used Google Maps and looked at the reviews. Doing laundry is so interesting. This time one customer had a dachshund in a shoulder bag.
As well as just googling up what's in the area, we've found that the desks at our hotels have been really helpful as far as suggesting the nearest one. Yep, doing laundry has been interesting everywhere in Europe we've done it!
You can find a list of laundromats and their addresses in each arrondissement at https://excuseme-whereis.com/Paris_Laundromats_O_V.html. You will also find general instructions on how to use French laundromats there. To get to the list by arrondissements, click on Paris at the link above or go to https://excuseme-whereis.com/Paris_Laundromats.html
JHK , that is a great site , excellent source of information . I found our launderette in Paris listed , a block from our hotel . The home page directing the users to the other locations , is terrific . This just went into my travelers toolbag . Kudos for posting this .
Very useful links; thanks for posting.
My only audition is that I want a laverie which has a brasserie terrace nearby so I can sit with a beer yet still be in touch with the washing process. Double suds, to make an obscure pun.
@JHK - Great website! A VERY useful post. Thanks!
@ Southam, I know a couple of laundromats that could lead to your double suds. When we stayed at the Apollon Montparnasse in the 14th, we did laundry twice at two different laundromats one of which was a place on Rue Pernety very near Rue Raymond Losserand that was across the street from a bar and next door to a cafe. We lived for a summer in the 1st and did laundry at the laundromat on Place du Marché Saint-Honoré which is right next door to L'Absinthe (where we would hang out if doing laundry in the middle of the day) and very close to the Pain Quotidien on Place du Marché Saint-Honoré (where we would hang out if doing laundry in the morning). Both have outdoor seating and you can literally see the laundromat from the terraces.
56 Rue de Seine, 75006 Paris, France
Julice Laverie.
We used this while staying at a nearby hotel (Artus Hotel). Rue de Buci is a great street too.
The staff at your hotel should be able to point you to the nearest laundromat. I know of a couple in the 7th, but that may not work for you.
Try Lavomatic near the Republique tube station...push a button on the correct dryer and a door opens to a tiny stairwell leading to a speakeasy upstairs. Do your laundry and have a cocktail while you wait! One of my favorite places to have a drink in the city.
There's a laundromat across the street from Polidor restaurant near the Odeon -- put your laundry in, enjoy bouef bourgignon, run back and put the clothes in the dryer.
