My sister and I are looking for a reputable tour company for a self guided bike tour. Any experience, anyone? We're hoping for a week long tour. Thanks.
Rick's France book lists bike resources in several cities (some tours, more rentals) but doesn't cover much of Brittany. In St. Malo, for instance, he mentions that there are several rental agents near the train station and Tourist Information Office, including one called Ty'Boost Bikes. In general, the TI is a good place to start, either in person or online. See also:

If there is a recreational bike club in your area you might want to attend a meeting and see if anyone has done such a trip. Or check at some local bike shops to see what advice they can give.

I haven't done their Brittany trip, but have done the Loire Valley and Provence. Both were exceptional as far as bikes, maps, hotels, and their service levels. I would recommend them to anyone looking for a self-guided bike trip, which I think is the best way to see a specific area. I've booked a third trip with them for Alsace this Fall.
